Two Centennials: 2012 and 2013

Two recent milestones

2012 Newport Art Museum Centennial

2013 Artists Reach & Teach

100 Years of Art Education at the Newport Art Museum

Creative and curious people founded the Art Association of Newport in 1912 – artists, thinkers, writers – people who understood that art is our link with the past, a reflection on the present, and our gift to the future. It helps us to celebrate our roots and to find our place in history. Art teaches us how to see, hear and feel the world – to express ourselves, our dreams, our visions. Art saves the past and celebrates the future by preserving our cultural heritage. Our founding members believed that art mattered in 1912. It still matters. Over one hundred years later, the Newport Art Museum continues to enhance community life as a shared place for the arts, ideas and culture, where creative and curious people come together
