"Newport's Muse and Mentor"
The Newport Art Museum has lost a great friend. We join the Newport community in mourning the loss of Richard Grosvenor.
Nowhere is Richard Grosvenor held in more esteem than at the Newport Art Museum, which first exhibited his work in 1946 and where he served in various capacities on the Board since 1953, taught in its school since the early 1990s and gave his name and art to countless fundraisers. In 1994, Dick became chairman of the first annual “Wet Paint,” the Museum's popular summer event synonymous with the Grosvenor name.
Our heartfelt condolences to the Grosvenor family. He will be greatly missed.
