Second Saturdays

Family-Friendly Programming in the Galleries

Join us on the second Saturday of every month for engaging family-oriented programming designed to inspire young minds and satisfy the curiosity of every member of the family.  Each Second Saturday is uniquely curated based on a theme, and includes a variety of activities geared for ages 3-10, and their parents.

10am-12pm, on the second Saturday of each month.

Second Saturday is free with Museum admission.

Second Saturday is generously supported by the Hartfield Foundation, as well as

Second Saturdays

10 am     Newport Art Museum (76 Bellevue Avenue)

The Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art (RIMOSA) will join us in the galleries to make electrified claymation characters! Using their "Electric Dough" kids will explore the properties of electricity, while crafting curious characters that are sure to impress your friends.  Learn how circuits work and the difference between conductive and resistive materials through hands-on art and science activities. Play dough + imagination + LED lights = super cool electric artwork!
