An Accessible Museum
The Newport Art Museum is committed to making our campus, buildings and programs accessible to people of all ages and abilities. For general access information, please call 401. 848.8200. For program information call 401.848.2787.
The Newport Art Museum's three-building campus includes the John N. A. Griswold House, Cushing Gallery and the Gilbert S. Kahn Building, which houses our art school, the Coleman Center for Creative Studies. All three buildings are accessible to visitors using wheelchairs, walking aids or children's strollers. Our south parking lot off Downing Street provides easy access to all Museum buildings and to the grounds.
Griswold House and the Cushing Gallery are accessible to those using wheelchairs and walking aids via the sculpture garden entrances: on the south side of the Griswold House; on the north side of the Cushing gallery.
The Coleman Center, located in the Kahn Building, is accessible from the Liberty Street entrance. There is a curb cut in front of the building.

The Newport Art Museum welcomes service animals.
The galleries in Griswold House and Cushing Gallery, and the Elizabeth Conklin Museum Shop are accessible to visitors using wheelchairs, walking aids and strollers, although some of the thresholds are raised slightly. One of our visitor services staff members will be happy to assist at your request. An ADA compliant elevator services the first and second floors in Grisowld House and the basement, where ADA compliant restrooms are located.
