A National Historic Landmark showcasing 19th century design and craftsmanship, the John N.A. Griswold House is the perfect setting for cocktail parties, lively soirees, and receptions both small and large. The house consists of two floors connected by a stunning staircase with a large landing. The first floor features two beautiful historic rooms and a large gallery with space for lectures, seated dinner, and a dance floor. Our second floor galleries are open for guests to view, and can be transformed into a holding room for the bride.
The Grounds allow room for an outdoors cocktail party that spills from our wrap around veranda to the historic stonewall separating the Museum from Bellevue Avenue. With a view of Touro Park and magnificent sunsets, our Grounds can accommodate a variety of tent sizes to fit larger guest counts for wedding receptions. When renting the Museum Grounds, guests will have access to the Griswold House galleries, including the lower level restrooms.
The Cushing Gallery
The Cushing Gallery houses our permanent collection of Howard Cushing’s work in addition to changing special exhibition. The Cushing Gallery is available for viewing at an additional fee; food and drink are prohibited in the Cushing Gallery.
