- Details: The SEE of Creativity is an illustrated discussion of creativity and abstract photography, designed to help photographers see their own unique images and work toward a personal style. Techniques for producing abstract images and creative montages are explained. Ray Guillette is an active member of The Photographic Society of New England as well as the New England Camera Club. He presents instructive programs on a regular basis.

Art on the Lawn
September 6 and 7, 2008, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m

- Details: The Artists' Guild will hold its 20th Annual "Art on the Lawn" arts festival on the grounds of the Newport Art Museum.
This juried show is the longest running outdoor art festival in the area. It attracts between 30 and 40 local and nationally known professional artists whose works are for sale to the public. The show is open to all artists in the following media: oil, watercolor, pencil, pastel and mixed media as well as photography, sculpture, printmaking and one of a kind original works in glass, wood, fiber, clay and jewelry.
