Summer Art Classes 2009 The Minnie and Jimmy Coleman Center for Creative Studies
In the Gilbert S. Kahn Building
This summer we have exciting classes and workshops at the Newport Art Museum’s Coleman Center for Creative Studies. You may choose a short one or two day workshop or a multi-week class for in-depth study. As always, we strive to meet the needs of lifelong learners in our community, whether professional artists or those who always “wanted to try it out.”
Adult classes and workshops are scheduled during the day and at night. We cover a broad range of interests, including art history, ceramics, digital photography, drawing, jewelry, painting and printmaking. Any of our classes can be used for Rhode Island certified public school teachers professional development credits.
Summer art camps and daily workshops are being offered through July and August for children age 4 to 14 years. Like adults, children may choose from a broad selection. They may study ceramics, drawing, painting and photography. Special courses are offered for teen artists as well. Please note our popular weekly summer camp programs at our Newport, Tiverton and Little Compton sites, which are also included in this catalog.
After reading the catalog, please let us assist you in selecting the right course. By becoming a member, you are eligible to receive 15% to 20% discounts on class fees as well as free admission to the Museum’s exhibitions and members’ receptions.
