The Newport Annual Members’ Juried Exhibition is a stand-out on the regional arts calendar every year. Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, Curator of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield Connecticut, will judge the 2010 show.

Once again this year our juror, Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, will be selecting "Best in Show", as well as a first prize and honorable mentions in the categories of painting, watercolor, prints/drawings/pastels, three-dimensional, photography/video, and mixed media. The "Best in Show" and first place artist in each category will receive a cash prize. "The Newport Art Museum Award" comes with a future solo exhibition and is chosen by Nancy Whipple Grinnell, Curator.

The notification process for the Newport Annual will again be posted online.The accepted artist numbers will be made available here on the website as well as by telephone, on January 27.

Requirements and Guidelines

  • Artists must be members of the Newport Art Museum
  • Only one piece of work may be submitted per artist
  • Work must have been executed within the past year
  • Work must not have been shown at the Museum previously
  • Work must be clearly labled on the reverse or underside with name, title, medium, and phone number
  • Work must be exhibition ready, i.e. framed, wired, ready to hang, etc. (Gallery wrapped acceptable)
  • NO "wet" work admitted
  • Artist are responsible for transportation of their work to and from the Museum
  • After 30 days uncollected work becomes the property of the Newport Art Museum and may be sold to benefit the Museum's programs.
