The Newport Art Museum's warm-weather extravaganza on Saturday, July 11 was a production with two acts. More than 255 guests attended "You're Sensational," our 1950s-themed dinner dance. An additional 70 guests joined us for the "Young at Heart" after-party. The Mac Chrupcala Orchestra entertained all evening. Many thanks to Honorary Chair Elizabeth Brooke Blake, to Diana and Jerry Slocum, Jr., and to Robert Manice, Jean Gorham, Rod O'Hanley, Robin Grace Warren, Mary Joan Seiter, Tom Eberhardt, Jessica Hagen, Jackie Egan and Dan MacDonald. The creative black-tie event raised $231,578 to support Museum exhibitions, cultural programming and educational outreach.
Local B & Bs join as pARTners in art
Samuel Durfee House and Ivy Lodge
Bed & Breakfast owners who join the Newport Art Museum as pARTners in art have a little something extra to offer their guests: passes for complimentary admission to the Museum during their stay.
Owners like Heather and Michael De Pinho of Samuel Durfee House, and Daryl and Darlene McKenzie of Ivy Lodge also enjoy the benefits of Household Membership for themselves and their families. Heather says, "It's nice to be able to offer our guests passes to the Newport Art Museum. I's beneficial to us and to them. We believe art is important and this is one way we can keep the arts strong in Newport."
