Paint, Draw, Sculpt, Learn the Art of Portraiture

Portraits will be front and center all winter in Griswold House galleries. Let art works by Bill Heydt, Brenda LeVasseur and others inspire you! Learn more about this historic genre by taking Noelle King O’Conner’s art history class, “A Former Facebook: The Portrait.” Explore the genre with oil paint in Peter Dickison’s “Portrait with a Hat or Costume,” or in a medium of your choice in Trish Hurley’s “Evening Portrait & Figure: Drawing & Painting.” Beginners can try their hand at portraiture with Keith Fox in “Portrait Painting for Beginners.” And let’s not forget Fido. Jeannine Bestoso will show you how to use acrylic paint to create a portrait of your beloved animal companion in “Pet Portraits.”

See all Coleman Center classes and register online. You may also register in person at the Coleman Center between 11 am and 3 pm, or by telephone (401)848-2787.
