Museum involvement is "Family Affair" says Board President Rod O'Hanley
I've had a relationship with the Newport Art Museum & Art Association for many years - long enough to remember taking an art class in Griswold House when I wasn't tall enough to see over an easel! Something about those early lessons must have inspired me because I made art education into a career through the Middletown Public School system. I joined the Education Committee here at the Museum in the 90s, became Chair in 1998 and was invited onto the Board of Trustees that same year.
Coming home to art
Serving now as President of the Board is like coming home. I cannot think of a better place to spend time or a better way to give what I can to the arts community. Through the Museum, I can share what I love - my passion for art and art education - with others.
Get Involved
I invite all of you to experience the fabulous programs that this wonderful institution has to offer and to consider supporting the Museum in any way you can. There are dozens of ways to get involved: volunteer, donate funds or office equipment or art supplies, take a class or bring your friends to see our new exhibitions. To those of you who are new to the Newport Art Museum, “Welcome to the family!” To our members, “Welcome home!”
