Rhode Island’s largest and most comprehensive exhibition of regional contemporary art returns to the Newport Art Museum in February. The “Newport Annual Members’ Juried Exhibition” showcases new work by some of the region’s brightest lights, rising stars and undiscovered talents. This could be you!

Every year we receive hundreds of entries from artists of all ages in a multitude of media including painting, watercolor, prints, drawings, pastels, three-dimensional, photography, video and mixed media. What are YOU working on?

We ensure an interesting and high quality “Newport Annual” by inviting independent experts from the world of art to determine which works will make it into the show. This year’s juror is Maya Allison, Curator of the David Winton Bell Gallery, at Brown University. Allison, who holds an MFA from Columbia University, is particularly interested in new media and emerging art. As Curatorial Assistant in Contemporary Art at the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Allison co-produced Wunderground: Providence. She was also director of 5 Traverse Gallery and Program Director of the New Media Showcase Pixilerations.

Bring us one ready-to-hang or ready-to-install work, which you’ve completed over the last year, but have not exhibited previously at the Newport Art Museum. You must be a current member of the Museum to submit. (We’ll accept membership dues at the time your work is delivered.) Entry fee - $20.
