The contest: From 01/23/12 through 03/7/12, the Newport Art Museum & Art Association will promote, by means of the internet, email, newsletter and at the Museum’s campus at 76 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI the opportunity to submit entries to win a prize as detailed below. The submission period to enter the contest will be 01/23/12 through 02/17/12.

Eligibility: In order to submit entries, an individual must be at least 18 years of age and reside in the United States of America. An individual may submit ONE photographic entry accompanied by the text that appears on the card. An individual who is at least 18 years of age may vote for his or her favorite finalist once between 02/20/12 and 03/03/12 regardless of whether he or she has submitted a photographic entry. Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for the Newport Art Museum & Art Association or any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the contest or supplying the prize, and/or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to win a prize however, such individuals may submit a photographic entry solely for the purpose of displaying said entry in the Virtual Galler Exhibition. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, stepparents, children, stepchildren, siblings, stepsiblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months in one calendar year.

How to enter: (I) Become a fan of the Newport Art Museum & Art Association page on Facebook on during the contest period. Click on the “contests” tab and provide the requested information. (ii) Follow the instructions to upload a photographic entry and/or vote. By submitting to the contest the entrant grants permission for the Newport Art Museum & Art Association to reproduce the entrant's image and accompanying text in print and online for promotional purposes related to the contest and as permanent submissions to the Memories & Messages Project. After the contest closes promotions related to the contest will expire December 31, 2012. Newport Art Museum & Art Association reserves the right to refuse photographic entries or to delete user-submitted content that constitute, promote,  advertise or otherwise condone or that refer the viewer to third party websites pertaining to Gambling, Adult content (porn, soft porn, sites with adult ad's), Pharmacy (Cheap drugs, Viagra, male/female enhancement, etc.), Hate, Link Farms or Spam Sites. We do not need to explain our decision or reasons if we reject or cancel your entry.

How to win: Finalists will be selected by a juror from all qualified entries on or about 02/19/12. Finalists will be announced online on or about 02/20/12. Public voting to select the prize winner will begin on 02/20/12 and conclude on 03/03/12.  The winner will be announced online on or about 03/04/12. In the event that the original prize winner does not meet Official Rules or eligibility requirements, or he/she or parent or legal guardian forfeits the prize, Newport Art Museum & Art Association will award the prize to first alternate. Process will continue until prize is awarded.
All entries must be received on or before 02/20/12. Decision of the juror and Newport Art Museum & Art Association is final. The prize winner will be notified by email or telephone and must meet all eligibility requirements.

By entering, each contestant agrees to be bound by the rules. Newport Art Museum & Art Association, its promotional agents and promotions co-sponsors are not responsible for illegible, lost, delayed or misdirected email, errors in faxes or shipments, busy phone signals, or incomplete entries.
Prize: (One) prize winner(s) will each receive a mini-exhibition at the Coleman Center for Creative Studies and the winning photographic entry will be exhibited on the Newport Art Museum & Art Association website at www.newportartmuseum.org. The winning entry along with all other entries will become permanent additions to the Memories & Messages Project. There are no other prizes.

The prize is non-transferable. There may be no cash or other substitutions of prizes by winner. However, Newport Art Museum & Art Association reserves the right to substitute similar prizes of equal or greater value in the event the above prize is unavailable for any reason. Individual, parent or legal guardian of winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes with respect to entire prize.

Winner or Parent or legal guardian of prize winner must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Indemnification Form ("the Form") that : a) releases, indemnifies and holds harmless Newport Art Museum & Art Association, its parent, affiliated, subsidiary and successor companies, and its respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives, advertising agencies and promotional sponsors (collectively the "Release") from and against any and all harm, expense, liability or injury that may be sustained relating to or arising from participation in the sweepstakes or acceptance or use of the prize; and b) authorizes the Release to use the winners' name, likeness, photographs, voices and biographical data for any purpose, in any media, unless prohibited by law.
Prize will not be released until Newport Art Museum & Art Association receives all required documents. Failure of prize winner to return the Forms within the required timeframe will result in automatic forfeiture of any prizes and all such prizes shall be awarded to an alternate winner. In the event of a prize forfeiture, the winner or parent or legal guardian of the winner forfeiting prize will sign a Prize Forfeit Form and return to Newport Art Museum & Art Association within ten (10) days of receiving the Form.

Unforeseen Events: Newport Art Museum & Art Association reserves the right to change this contest at its sole discretion at any time that Newport Art Museum & Art Association becomes aware of any circumstances or occurrence which would materially affect the contest security or fairness. Newport Art Museum & Art Association reserves the right to announce any contest rules changes over the air, in print or posters. Newport Art Museum & Art Association is not responsible for the inability of the winner to accept the prize for any reason.
